Short Description:
Distractive is a web3 marketing agency that’s been funded to serve as a representative for Polkadot in 2024, to help amplify the work being done throughout the Polkadot ecosystem. We’ve put together five campaigns for Q2 that will help shed light on the projects within the Polkadot ecosystem, as well as targeted campaigns that will help onboard new developers, partners, and community members in the space. All references to deliverables on social media and content refer to posts that will originate from the main Polkadot social accounts, as well as the Polkadot website and owned blogs.

Hello, Please share your past achievements and success metrics numbers with us, for improved transparency. Personally I am not very familiar with your work, but would like to have a look to your references before voting! Have a great day!

Hey Six! Distractive was awarded the first Decentralized Futures grant from W3F, becoming one of the key marketing contributors to Polkadot in 2024. Some of the Distractive team marketed for Moonriver and Moonbeam since inception and took on Polkadot in February 2024. Here is our forum post about our approach to marketing for Polkadot.
This proposal is our first for media spend, so there are no specific metrics to share. We have a team with a combined total of over 20 years of experience in paid media/performance marketing, CRO and analytics. This includes a team member who was responsible for running paid media for Polkadot (Parity) for two years.
Our team has also been working on some of the mainstream crypto events such as EthDenver, our team was responsible for the booth design, coordination, staffing etc. You can view our last proposal for Consensus 2024 here.
any specific reason to bypass existing marketing bounties and ask funding through referenda?
@ROTKO.NET
Thanks for the question. One reason we went to treasury directly is that our proposal is substantial, and we want to ensure it receives proper attention without depleting funds available for smaller spends through marketing bounties.
Another reason is that we're not just focusing on ad space but also on targeting, reach, and robust success metrics, ensuring our campaigns deliver meaningful impact. Posting here provides other marketing entities and community members with transparency and the details they need to collaborate with us. We are hoping it also sets the stage for more detailed proposals going forward that include the target audience, the plan to reach them, and how we will measure success for maximum marketing synergy and impact.
