Retrospective Funding Proposal of the Polkadot HK Event

BeneficiaryBeneficiary:

(907 DOT)

Applicant: PolkaWorld

Retrospective Funding Amount: 907 DOT

Reason for Request: Polkadot HK Event

Following the success of hosting Polkadot Side Events during the 2023 Hong Kong Web3 Festival, PolkaWorld organized an offline Polkadot Event on April 5th, 2024 at the Fringe Club, a popular hotspot in Hong Kong. The event was held in collaboration with 9 projects from the Polkadot ecosystem and 4 venture capital firms. The event aims to bring together Polkadot community enthusiasts and builders to discuss Polkadot 2.0 and potential market trends following its resurgence. As hosting an offline event was not included in the task list of the previous proposal submitted by PolkaWorld, we will apply for retrospective funding to cover the operational costs associated with this event.

Please see the event introduction and detailed expenditure here.

Hello, Good to see activity from PolkaWorld in HK! You have a good outreach for the event generally on socials, but the attendee number doesn't seem to be very for the amount you are requesting. The prices in HK compare to Dubai, Singapore, Luxembourg or other expensive locations, so this is an understandable reason the go for a higher amount requested for this size of the event, but maybe not that much. I see very strong individuals/firms on the event pictures who participated in your event, so for me this is more on the Aye-ish side.
