I have decided to join this bounty program to represent the Midwestern United States. I think this will help passionate individuals host exciting and engaging events. I know from experience that meet-ups need strong budgets to draw in a lot of people. Funded meet-ups also legitimize the Polkadot brand, showing people that there is an on-the-ground effort to spread awareness and generate new users.
A starting point of 5,000 DOT is great! It's not a huge commitment but it will get the ball rolling. It should fund 20 — 30 meet-ups, after which we can assess the performance of this bounty.
I am joining as a Curator for the Meetups bounty in Vietnam & SEA. My main purpose is to organize more events in this region that are dominated by other ecosystems. Additionally, I would like to foster collaborative ecosystem events by working with local external collaborators to coordinate local and regional events.
