Treasury Proposal for Funding the JAMTON Project - Bridging 950 Million Users to the Polkadot Ecosystem
JAMTON: Bridging 950 Million Users to Polkadot
JAMTON is a cross-chain layer designed to connect the TON (The Open Network) ecosystem, with its 950 million Telegram users, to the Polkadot ecosystem. As a Polkadot parachain, JAMTON will facilitate seamless cross-chain communication, liquidity flow, and user interaction between the two ecosystems, enabling Polkadot-based projects to tap into the vast TON user base and liquidity.
JAMTON will act as a gateway, allowing TON projects and Telegram users to seamlessly engage with Polkadot's powerful infrastructure and decentralized applications. This will result in massive user growth, increased liquidity, and enhanced interoperability for Polkadot-based projects, opening the door to millions of new users and a steady influx of liquidity from the TON ecosystem.

How JAMTON Benefits the Polkadot Ecosystem:
- User Growth & Engagement. JAMTON offers a direct bridge to Telegram users, providing easy entry into Polkadot through tools like Telegram Wallet and Mini Apps, massively boosting user engagement and ecosystem participation.
- Increased Liquidity. By connecting Polkadot and TON ecosystems, JAMTON enables an inflow of liquidity from TON token holders into Polkadot-based projects, driving growth in Polkadot’s DeFi ecosystem and staking protocols.
- Enhanced Cross-Chain Interoperability. JAMTON facilitates atomic cross-chain interaction between Polkadot parachains and TON-based projects, expanding Polkadot's interoperability beyond its own ecosystem and into the TON ecosystem.
Key Deliverables of the JAMTON Development
In this proposal, we plan to build the following core components of the JAMTON project:
- Cross-chain infrastructure as parallelized decentralized layer to enable interoperability between TON and Polkadot.
- Fast and secure asset bridge between the two ecosystems.
- Simplified entry for TON users and liquidity into the Polkadot ecosystem.
- Telegram Mini App for smooth interaction with JAMTON protocol and dApps.
The development roadmap is designed for 3 milestones of 3 months each. See detailed roadmap and deliverables in the full proposal document.
Funding Request
We are seeking a treasury allocation of 251,660 USDC on Polkadot Asset Hub to fund the development of JAMTON, a game-changing cross-chain solution that bridges the Polkadot and TON ecosystems.
This amount will cover:
- Development and deployment of JAMTON’s toolkit and infrastructure.
- Marketing and outreach to bring more users and developers into the Polkadot ecosystem.
- Ongoing support and maintenance.
We kindly request your support for this strategic initiative, which will position Polkadot as a more interconnected, liquid, and accessible ecosystem through the power of JAMTON.

if I'm not mistaken this project comes from https://x.com/curio_invest right?
@BRA
Yes, right. Our team is also developing of Curio Chain (Kusama parachain)
So let me get this straight... you want the Polkadot community to fund the development of the JAMTON chain? Like.... what? why?
Also, stop saying that you'll bridge 950M users to Polkadot... you don't even know if there's an interest for TON users to migrate to Polkadot, you're just making up numbers. Just because you build a bridge doesn't mean someone will cross it.
Your proposal includes no reason for funding (like... the actual benefit results expected to see by the Polkadot community) so I'm very confused... HOW EXACTLY ARE YOU EXPECTING TO GET THIS APPROVED?
@antiwrappingpaper
Thank you for your feedback.
JAMTON is now in the pre MVP stage and our goal is to create a layer that connects the TON ecosystem and Polkadot. Both ecosystems will be able to grow in synergy by leveraging technologies and resources together.
We are not asking the Polkadot community to fund the project just for its own growth. Instead, we look at this as an opportunity to provide real interoperability and benefits to both ecosystems. We need the Polkadot community's interest and support.
Regarding the number of users: it is correct to assume that all 950 million Telegram users will not migrate to the Polkadot ecosystem and use its projects. But even a small percentage of that number will be important for the Polkadot ecosystem. Our vision is to open the gateway for TON projects (and their users and developers) to access Polkadot's features.
We are actively communicating/collaborating with TON project teams and participating in TON community events. TON ecosystem participants need a fast and stable Layer 2 of their dApp – the TON network has problems with the stability of transaction execution and its speed. Taking into account these TON network problems we consider it as a good opportunity for users onboarding into the Polkadot ecosystem via our JAMTON cross-chain layer. TON projects have significant audiences of active Telegram users who are involved in the TON crypto ecosystem.
We already have established partnerships with TON ecosystem projects and organisations working on ecosystem’s growth. We also have technical integrations/developments related to the TON network and interoperability with the Substrate node. We are currently testing it.
