Vote / democracy

Hello, everyone. I voted on polkadot in a democracy. Then I blocked my vote for a period of 448 days (x16). Then I cancelled my vote. My question is next, then I unblock the polkadots after cancelling the vote? Because I can't make a withdrawal or movement anymore. (On the other hand, I noticed that I could vote again for the same amount so the vote is again available.)

Hi,

You can remove a vote for a referendum if:

  • the referendum was cancelled, or
  • the referendum is ongoing, or
  • the referendum has ended such that: 1. the vote of the account was in opposition to the result; or 2. there was no conviction to the account's vote; or 3. the account made a split vote.

Then the vote is removed cleanly and a following call to unlock may result in more funds being available. So you should check if you can unlock your tokens by signing one extra call that removes the lock. You can find the option by clicking on the three dots next to the balance of your account in "Accounts" (Polkadot.js Apps tab). I am not sure which referendum you voted on but happy to check on an explorer if you need help figuring this out.
